6-month Orthodontic braces-Its treatment and reviews
6-month smiles or 6-month orthodontic braces treatment are very effective to most of the orthodontic complaints in a very short period of 6 months.
The common orthodontic problems are crowding (teeth are closer to each other),spacing(space between teeth),overbite, underbite, overjet(bulging out of the front teeth),cross bite, openbite, misplaced midline (centre lines of upper and lower teeth misalign). All these orthodontic complaints can be rectified in only a short period of six months.
Merits of 6-month orthodontic braces
- wires are small, tooth colored and hence virtually almost invisible.
- Treatment time period is comparatively very less
- Total treatment cost is almost half of traditional or train track braces or invisiline braces
Treatment methods
At your first visit to the orthodontist he will take your impressions of your teeth and sometimes also take some photographs,X-rays which are the usual procedures. Then according to your conditions of your teeth the orthodontist will suggest you about the 6-month smiles treatment and tell you also about the cost of the treatment.
Then you will be fitted with the 6-month braces which consists of special wires, white brackets that are made from 6-month smiles laboratory in the United States Of America. The treatment using these braces are a complete success in America.
Usually you have to visit to the orthodontist every month inorder to tighten the wires of the braces which is a very simple procedure and takes only upto 10-15 minutes.
6-month orthodontic braces are using nickel titanium wires along with the white brackets and so there is only less visible outside. So you can avoid the embarrassment for wearing this braces.
Every braces have some discomforts and pain at the starting of the treatment and then you will be used to it.Orthodontists will prescribe you to take some pain killers like Ibuprofen or Paracetamol at the beginning.
you have to put retainers after the completion of the treatment inorder to reduce the risk of relapse. The teeth has the tendency to retain the natural position after the treatment,so the orthodontists will provide you with retainers like night time removable retainers or permanent bonded retainers on the back surfaces of your teeth.

I just read your review on the “six month braces”, and was shocked to see that you wrote this review without doing any research on this, therefore, you are misleading the public. We orthodontists have been using the exact same appliances and techniques for many years, and the “six month braces” technique basically means that stopping the treatment prematurely after six months without correcting any bite problems – well, after shaving (“reprox”, he says) your teeth over and over again since they don’t know how to do anything else. I would strongly recommend you to remove this article, or edit it after consulting an orthodontist.

I am so glad i have read this comment. I have been considering getting braces and I am a bit confused on what treatment I need. I must admit the 6 month braces are very appealing, I have seen good reviews and pictures but it does seem too good to be true. I did think myself that it would be stopping the treatment prematurely and I have been trying to find more information about this and found next to nothing so thank you. I think I’ll stay on the safe side and go with normal ones.

Dear Jen .. Thanks for the response. For minor misalignments, this treatment is very effective, however for some serious crookedness, this six months smile brace is not very effective.

Admin.. 6 months braces (especially done by a general dentist without any orthodontic specialty training) will NOT achieve results that are up to the same standard of a trained specialist. In the poor quality examples provided, midlines are non coincident, spaces are still present, cross bites are still not corrected, etc… PATIENTS, please beware of these marketing ploys as they are trying to lure you with the short treatment time. But anything in life that is valuable takes time. Thats’s why after they finish this 6 month braces on you, you may have some straight teeth in the front, but all crooked teeth in the back. The problem with that is if you don’t have proper occlusion, you not only risk relapse, but abnormal wearing of teeth, TMJ problems, and eventually recrowding of the teeth. So please.. if you are thinking of getting this questionable 6 month braces treatment at least get a second opinion with a free consult from a certified orthodontist so that you can make an informed decision.

I currently have 6 month braces and my teeth are moving so quickly with no pain at all. A little tender after my check ups, but other then that I don’t understand why people have bad things to say about them.. Personally, I love them! I have had mine on for only a month and have seen an AMAZING difference. My bottom teeth were heavily crowded and I had an overbite, my teeth are now almost straight and my overbite is fading. I am impressed and will reccomend 6 month braces to everyone and anyone!

I have had the 6 months braces for about 9 months now, I used to have crowder teeth in the bottom and I have seen some improvement, how ever after paying 4200$ dollars I though the resolts would have been a hole lot better, not to mention that if you drink soda ,coffee or tea they will turn yellow .
Bottom line don’t waste your money!

DO NOT DO SIX MONTH BRACES! I had them done and now I’m very unhappy. When the braces came off, my teeth were PERFECT. Then I got a permanent retainer. Well, as you are chewing food the cement holding the retainer in place wears off. So, I’ve gone back to the dentist dozens of times to get more cement added. In the meanwhile, since the retainer isn’t firmly in place I’ve noticed that my teeth’s alignment is not as tight as it used to be: I did not pay $3600 for ANY amount of gapping to come back! When I returned to the dentist and let them know how unhappy I was, I was told that I need a bioliner. They took my retainer completely off and then I was told how much it was at the end of my visit: $600! I agreed to do this since I have a flexible spending account, and I was told that the office wasn’t charging me; this was all lab fees. Well, I got the bioliner and they told me that my teeth would hurt as my teeth moved just like it did when I had the braces on–I have felt NO movement with this thing, and now I notice that another set of teeth have shifted. I’m very unhappy. After I’ve had this super-expensive procedure done, the dentist tells me that Six Months Braces are cosmetic and don’t do anything to the roots of your teeth. When I initially told her about the tooth movement all she said was, “There’s been some shifting.” If there’s anyone out there that can give me a recommendation on what to do in my situation, please do so. My e-mail is lady1865@yahoo.com….thanks.
